Our Founding Story
60 years ago we planted olive trees in our family groves surrounding the mystical Ancient Olympia. As the trees matured, they nourished three generations. In 2013, we founded PJ Kabos as a way to share their goodness with people who were seeking a healthy, pure way of eating.

Tasting characteristics
Aromas of artichoke, basil and notes of tomato stem. Taste exhibits abundant fruitiness, medium bitterness and pungency with notes of arugula, flowers, mint and green almond. A high persistence and complexity.
Location
Our groves are located in the western Peloponnese region of Greece, very close to the site of Ancient Olympia. Since ancient days, olive trees have thrived in the climatic conditions offered by this mythical area and EVOO has always had a protagonist role in everyday life.

Koroneiki Olive VarietyThis variety is cultivated around the Western Peloponnese and is known for its high quality and aromatic oil. Its characteristic “green” taste is internationally renowned and perfectly complements most foods. |
Hand HarvestedWe harvest the olives in October/November when the fruits are still yellowish/green in color. Although this gives a very low and costly yield of around 10%, it helps us achieve our desired very high antioxidant levels and delicious, medium intensity taste. |

Our Sustainable Approach
✔ Mindfully Sourced All of our olives come from either our private groves or other small, family run farms. We strive to maintain the traditional olive groves that have been a part of the Greek landscape for thousands of years and not destroy them to replace with super high density groves.
✔ Consciously Crafted Absolutely no chemicals are used during the process of extracting the oil from the fruit, a procedure which is accomplished through the use of centrifugal force (gravity).
✔ Cruelty Free Our sense of responsibility, care and respect for the earth encompasses all creatures, big and small, that live on it; it is our mission to help and protect them.
✔ Organic Methods We go to great lengths to ensure that all of our extra virgin olive oils are free from harmful pesticides.
✔ Plant Protection and Nurturing We use organic compost instead of chemical fertilizers for our family groves. Also, we never use organophosphate pesticides in order to control the olive fly, but instead only fly traps with natural deterrents, such as natural talc and sugar water.

We do not use heavy machinery to harvest the olive fruit or support the conversion of traditionally planted olive groves into super high density olive groves. |
