100+ animal welfare standards — Global Animal Partnership certified
All fresh chicken in our Meat department is Animal Welfare Certified by the nonprofit Global Animal Partnership using a tiered 5+ step system with detailed requirements for how animals are handled, housed, fed and more. Different animals have different, specific welfare needs – for chickens, that starts with no cages, no crates and no crowding. Each step builds on the previous, addressing things like outdoor access and time spent on pasture.
