DIGIC 7 Image Processor; ISO 100–40000

The DIGIC 7 Image Processor accelerates and facilitates all aspects of the EOS 6D Mark II camera’s operation, enhancing image capture with improved resolution, detail and noise reduction. It increases subject tracking speed and accuracy in Live View AF, helping to maintain focus on the subject and enables a broad range of ISO settings, from 100–40000 (expandable to L: 50 and H2: 102400), to deliver sharp and highly detailed results. Powerful all around, the DIGIC 7 Image Processor helps the EOS 6D Mark II capture sharp, striking and lifelike photos and movies with incredible speed.

Advanced Features

To help ensure accurate and consistent image capture, the EOS 6D Mark II camera offers a number of features to correct lens characteristics, subject and lighting conditions. Advanced optical lens correction can counter lens aberrations such as distortion and diffraction, delivering accurate high-resolution results automatically. The EOS 6D Mark II also has a Picture Style setting that controls strength, fineness and threshold for sharp and accurate recording of fine detail, plus a White Priority WB setting that compensates for the prevailing color cast, helping white details reproduce accurately.

AI Servo AF II

The EOS 6D Mark II camera is equipped with AI Servo AF II, which is optimized for use with the camera’s 45-point AF system*. The inclusion of a new metering sensor adds color detection, which references subject color information during Zone AF, Large Zone AF and Automatic AF Selection, for significant improvements in subject tracking even in dim light or highly reflective areas. A number of fine-tuning settings, available in the camera’s menu, enable further refinement of focus parameters for advanced operation.

Color Tone Detection AF & 7560-pixel RGB + IR Metering Sensor & EOS Scene Detect

Among the advanced electronics onboard the EOS 6D Mark II camera, a fine-tuned RGB+IR metering sensor not only helps ensure accurate exposure, but also uses Color Tracking to detect skin tone and help provide precise AF. This is particularly useful when establishing focus for portraits in situations where other AF systems may falter. When a skin tone is detected, AI Servo AF II starts on skin-toned points, then tracks the subject based on the original AF point’s color information, maintaining focus on the person even when they’re in motion.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Touch Screen

The EOS 6D Mark II camera features a Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch Clear View LCD II monitor that can be ideal for composing and reviewing your shots, especially when recording video. Simply tap the screen during Live View while taking video or photos and thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF, it can quickly snap focus to that location. Dual Pixel CMOS AF comes equipped with phase-detection, helping to ensure your results are sharp, keeping the time it takes to lock focus onto your subject to a minimum and smoothly maintaining focus where you want it.
