Choose emu oil that comes from a single source
Our farm is one of the few that sends in large enough batches to be ensure that it is not mixed with oil from any other farm.
As a result, our oil is in the top 2% of all emu oil in the country. That's due to the exceptional care provided by our emu farmers.
Factors that affect emu oil quality
- Location of the farm
- Knowledge and experience of the farmer
- Care and tending of the crop (or in this case, the emus)
- Nourishment, whether that's organic fertilizer or organic feed for the emus
- Processing methods
- Certification from an independent authority
Humanely raised emus produce the highest quality oil
Producers who cut corners are able to offer low prices, but their products have low quality to match.
Emu oil quality is greatly dependent on the integrity of the farmer. Emus that are raised in crowded pens, fed cheap food, and processed without adhering to AEA Certified standards will produce oil that is the equivalent of the cheapest bottles of wine or olive oil on the shelf.
