Piri-Piri, also called Peri-peri is a global delicacy especially popular in Europe and Africa for grilling chicken. A traditional African favorite, Piri-Piri is a spicy, pepper-based seasoning blend with roots in both Africa (Angola and Mozambique) and Portugal.
Our spicy Piri-Piri seasoning is authentic and delicious to use especially on grilled or oven roasted chicken. Our blend is the perfect balance of three organically grown indigenous African peppers, herbs and other farm ingredients sure to deliver a lasting flavor you won’t get tired of.

Our herbs, peppers and spices are sourced from US and farmers in Africa. Here’s a list of everything in our Piri-Piri:
African Red Chili Flakes – Naturally bright red, potent aromatic powerhouse of benefits
Uziza Pepper- also known as African Benin Pepper or Ashanti Pepper. It is a pepper berry from the Uziza plant, also used in France since the 14th century. Uziza has a deep herb like flavor and aroma
Udah Pepper - also known as Grains of Selim, Ethiopian or Senegal Pepper. A dry roasted pepper with an aromatic note used in many dishes and tea for its nutritional properties
Turmeric – 100% turmeric with high curcumin content. No color added, additives or short cuts
Ginger – Same as ginger grown centuries ago, pure and potent in taste, aroma and nutritional benefits
Garlic – Pure garlicky goodness, so good; you’ll taste a hint of it in every bite
African Nutmeg – Rich aroma, flavor and undertone to slightly extend the enjoyment in every bite
Paprika – Balanced, mild and slightly sweet aromatic flavor
Lemon – Tree ripened, for a mild zesty addition to brighten and delight
Onion –Sweet and aromatic, pleasing to the senses
Salt – Just a little for taste. Our sodium content is significantly lower than others

Piri-Piri Seasoning Recipes
Juicy Piri - Piri Chicken
Ingredients (4 servings):
4 lbs. chicken drumettes, wings, thighs or breast
3 Tbsp Iya Foods Piri-Piri Seasoning
1 Tbsp Iya Foods Whole Garlic•
Tbsp salt to season, ¼ cup chopped onions, 2 Tbsp Butter or ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional if going for less calories)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients including Piri-Piri seasoning and Garlic
Brush chicken with butter or oil
Then rub (completely coat)
Roast at 450F for approx. 20 mins or till cooked.Enjoy with any side such as salads, sandwiches, rice, fries etc. Tip –Add some tomato pepper sauce (can use ¼ cup of your pasta
Piri - Piri Chicken Wrap – Finger Licking Good!
Ingredients (4 servings):
4 lbs. chicken breast
3 Tbsp Iya Foods Piri-Piri Seasoning
1 Tbsp Iya Foods Whole Garlic Ground, 1 Tbsp salt to season, ¼ cup chopped onions, 2 Tbsp Butter or ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional if going for less calories)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients including Piri-Piri seasoning and Garlic
Brush chicken with butter or oil, Then rub (completely coat), Roast at 450F for approx. 20 mins or till cooked.
For Wrap
Cut your fully cooked Piri-Piri into bite sized deliciousness
Chop up your favorite condiments and fillings such as onions, tomatoes, vegetables, Add some mozzarella cheese, Add some ranch or avocado ranch dressing, Wrap and enjoy!
Spicy Fish Piri-Piri
Ingredients:
2 medium size whole fish (can use Tilapia, Snapper or any fish)
3 Tbsp Iya Foods Piri-Piri Seasoning
½ tsp Iya Foods Yellow Habanero Pepper Ground, ¼ cup any tomato sauce, 2 tsp salt
Instructions:
Make deep incisions in cleaned fish for marinade to seep in
For Peri Marinade - Combine One-pot simmer sauce, garlic, salt , yellow habanero and lemon
Rub a little over half the marinade all over the fish and into the incisions
Preheat oven to 400 and grill for about 20 minutes or until almost fully cooked
Rub remaining marinade all over grilled fish – let grill for 10 - 15 more minutes. Garnish as desired, Serve hot
