KAANAS originates from the word used by the ways tribe; acenturies-old matriarchal society from the guajira peninsulain colombian, for the intricate application of their signature weaves. While on a trip to laguajira in 2013, sisters liliana and natalia acevedo were so moved by the beauty of the wayuu’s textiles they set out to establish a company that would offer footwear designs featuring unique textiles sourced from around the globe. Each shoe bearing KAANAS’ golden script logo is still handcrafted by master artisans.
