There is a cover over the lower half of the remote. This will slide down to reveal the lower half, model specific functions.
Redi-Remotes cannot be programmed to control any auxillary devices. They will do every function for the unit (i.e. TV, VCR, DVD player, etc) they are designed to control. Redi-Remotes designed for projectors are not equipped with lasers.
