Hello! We're Maura and Justin, of Fancypants Baking Company. Our story began in 2004 in a small, cramped Boston apartment. Maura was bored at her job (statistical analysis, anyone?) and spent a lot of time daydreaming about doing something else. She started baking - and was hooked. Justin was happily teaching elementary school; but he was a foodie at heart, and couldn't resist joining the fun of building a cookie business.
Flash-forward a baker's handful of years. Today we have new ovens, a talented team who help us bake and decorate cookies, and a lot more space! Things look pretty different. But at our core, we still believe in the same basic principles that we did when we started: simplicity is the key to making great cookies. We bake with simple, fresh ingredients like organic cage free eggs, flour and sugar, and rich Madagascar vanilla. We build each cookie cutter by hand and taste-test every batch of cookie dough.
