How to Decorate a Cocktail.
When decorating any cocktail, it is important to know that each type of alcohol has a different pH as well as viscosity and gravitational weight based upon a number of factors including sugar level. Snowy River products are extensively tested in-house and are designed for use in alcohol based drinks but also look great in and as a rimmer for mocktails and soda based beverages (not designed for straight water). To get the desired color and sparkle you are after, feel free to use a little or a lot of our products. We recommend you make a shot glass size of any cocktail first while you are testing out your new cocktail decorating skills and then expand to larger glasses once you have the desired look you want. Our cocktail glitters and beverage colors (glitter free) will not alter the flavor of the drink being decorated but may have slight color variation between different types of cocktails depending on the blend you are working with.

Cocktail Salt Rimming Quick Tips:
- Ensure your glass is clean and roll the edge of the glass in the rimmer ensuring you dont get salt on the inside of the glass.
- Use the right rimming agent - for salt we recommend lime/lemon as the rimming agent or for a fuller rim use egg white. Never use water to rim a glass - you will get patchy results and the salt will fall off.
- Some of our salt and sugar crystal sizes may vary slightly between blends. By using egg white as rimming agent you will get the best results.
- Practice rimming a few glasses to get your technique right then have fun decorating.

How to Rim the Perfect Cocktail - Snowy River Style!

Step 1: PreparationPlace your cocktail salt in small flat plate large enough to enable you to roll your glass edge in it. In another plate add your rimming binding agent (what the salt will stick to). For salt, you will get the best rimming results when using lime/lemon but if you prefer a much thicker rim finish then use egg white or simple syrup (never use water as it doesn't stick well). |
Step 2: Rim the GlassRoll the edge of the glass into the rimming agent to get an even coverage. Too thick and it will run down the glass. Then roll the edge of the glass in the cocktail salt to get the desired effect. You can rim the full glass, half or quarter, go thick or a simple fine edge - it is up to you. |
Step 3: Add your cocktailThe final step is to add your cocktail into the glass ensuring you don't touch the rimmer when adding your drink. For that final touch, don't forget to use Snowy River all natural cocktail glitter. Adds more natural color and sparkle. |
