The official logo does not have a drop shadow so I updated the logo with the official one. While I was in there, it seemed like it could look slicker so I updated the css. I tried to adhere to the color palette we use on https://facebook.github.io/react/ and make the design responsive ish without adding too much more css. Screen shot of the new initial screen:
