Dropdown loses active state

Chrome for Mac. Consider the vertical button group. To repro:

1. Click any drop-down to expand. Notice the gray active state.
2. Click again, but this time release the click outside the dropdown area.
3. Notice the gray active state is gone. Active state fail.
