The use of resin over the clay adds a level of realism to the piece that would not exist without the use of said resin.

This was only my second time using resin, but it really did feel like the right material for the job.

Thank you! This is part of a series called "(de)composed," which explores the life and beauty in things which we perceive as ruined or bad.

I love this because I'm terrified of these flying mfs so it made me super anxious but if an artwork gives me strong feelings that means, to me, that it's well done.

What a wonderful response, it's so gratifying as an artist to be able to evoke a memory. My own strongest yellow jacket memories are from eating cider donuts after apple picking.
