I paint with oil every day and wash my hands, brushes and clothes only with soap. It can wait for washing all day, because the oil dries very slowly. The acrylic dries immediately and becomes waterproof. That's why I always spent more time cleaning my hands of acrylic.

So I'm just wondering if the fact that the shelf life of this work is so short, does its value rise because of it?

If you painted your hand and the background on a canvas, and then painted the hand to look like this ...

ngl I missread the title and thought it was the medium the medium.

"Women with pastels" and was like yeah checks out.

In any case great work. Makes me think about how even art pieces designed to be transient and ephemeral are easily made permanent with the level photography is at now, and how with the overwhelming majority of people who experience art do so through pictures of the thing, how do you make something transient be different. Heard a pottery guy on youtube mention how to save money he rarely bothers finishing the projects, not because glazing is particularily expensive, but since he records himself making the thing, he rarely feels the need to hold onto it so it lets him just smash the finished product and reuse the still wet clay.

Sure there's a really good piece of art to br made about this. Or already has been probably, I'm a historian, and not of art so shrugs

Imagine if you could go back in time and show Claude your hand. Of course, he wouldn't know what acrylic paint even meant.

Wonderful talent! I love the impressionists, and I can guarantee you anytime you put something up here, you get an up vote from me.

Beautiful work! Don't do this too much, though. Acrylic toxicity is a thing!
