At this point, I think Romney would have the edge. He seems like one of the more sane well-known republicans.

That’s a tough one. Biden is a disaster but Romney is a weak opposition simply because he’s not backed well by the Republicans. I would give the edge to Biden on this one.

Could see Romney winning as he could probably appeal better to independents and moderates. But there's no way he's winning a primary.

If he could then probably Mitt Romney, Republicans will vote for party no matter what even if they don't like the candidate and I could see Romney getting a lot of the independent vote since now he is moderate for the Republican party.

Personally I don’t know but those debates would be rough for Biden. Romney is relatively well spoken as an be seen in his debates with Obama.
