You’re going to have to provide some examples. BIFL, glass and lunchbox sounds very fragile to me.

Glass lol what. Didn’t even know they made this. Sounds foolish. Rather have steel…

That seems like a terrible idea.

I guess it could be tempered glass, but I really think metal is probably a better option. If you’re afraid of a metallic taste, nonreactive steel shouldn’t be a problem.

Just saying that glasswares aren't that fragile. How careless you are to drop your lunchbox?

I'll be sitting in your car all day until you decide to eat its contents then you'll put it back in your car's compartment.

The only time you handle it roughly is when washing it (same as cookwares) or when you are eating.

I’m not sure you’re 100% serious with this request. In case you are, there are portable containers that are glass but they’re intended to be carried in an insulated bag.

If I wasn’t being rough with it, why wouldn’t I just get a nylon cheapo one? At least its insulated. And if I am, I’d get steel. Glass just doesn’t seem like a good material. Maybe for food containers, but not a lunch box… but You do you man

When you say lunchbox, do you mean like a thermos? What kind of setup are you looking for? What did you try before that didn’t work out?

Edit: I don’t know if it’s buy it for life strictly speaking. But I have a stojo bowl that’s super useful and has held up well for a year with no signs of slowing down. It’s silicone with a plastic lid. I wash it at night in the dishwasher, and so far it hasn’t given me any problems.

If you can cook in stainless steel without it imparting a metallic taste, you should be able to store food in it too. I wonder if you got a dodgy product. Double wall insulated stainless steel would be a lot easier to find. Zojirushi is a very, very reputable brand.

Double wall insulated bentos with glass interiors may exist. I’ve just never seen one.
