I could never replace these hangers.

My former FIL used to buy suits from haberdashers. He wasn’t rich but he knew the value of well made clothes. I was able to get some of the wood hangers that came with the suits. I don’t think you’d get these for free at a chain store today. I’ve used them for coats, blankets and nice table cloths. They are priceless to me.

Any time I find hangers like those at yard sales and thrift stores, I get them. I hang almost everything I own on them!

We have a constant influx of wire hangers from the dry cleaners. Makes up for any lost/destroyed hangers.

I would like such broad hangers for my jackets, though. Better to keep the shape.

All the motorcycle jacket hangers that I've gotten over the years are like this.

Can also search for those and find heavy duty hangers meant for leathers, my leather jacket weighs 9lbs! Your regular clothes will be just fine.

I have wooden hangars for my clothes as well. They are cheaply made compared to yours (thinner guage wire and plastic pants bar).

The original set I purchased are 30 years old. The pants bar failed on a couple of them because it was only cheaply tacked into the wooden hangar. I purchased 2 dozen more since. They're great!

My granny crocheted sleeve-style covers that fit over old wooden hangers. Pretty sure the ones I have are from the 50s/60s. I’ve picked up those suit hangers at garage sales over the years. No more plastic hangers!!!

I live near a church “goodwill” and they have these hangers for like $0.25

I buy them up whenever they are available. Slowly replacing my plastic hangers with sturdy wood ones.
