Recommendations for a quality sofa that is durable and per friendly?

Looking to replace a tattered sofa. What are some recommendations for a high quality sofa that will be easy to clean and friendly for dogs who like to snuggle? My dog is a mutt, but kind of looks like an Australian shepherd/border collie and sheds quite a bit. Any recommendation on fabrics/material? I’ve been thinking a good quality leather or some sort of fabric that is durable and easy to clean.

I'm not sure but old owners of the house left a leather couch. The daughter of them said they had it since before she was born (in early 90s). Not sure about it but the tag that said leather was left on. It's pretty torn up but also very very old. Look for a darker couch color. We have a light grey fabric loveseat next to the real couch but no dogs or cats allowed on that one. Sectionals/sofa doesn't really matter just based off of style. Don't go too bold like bright red but a maroon shade would be okay. Also don't buy a sleeper sofa specifically. Unless you know you'll use it, otherwise it'll sit unused and get funky inside. Take proper care of your couch and vacuum regularly. Don't get too heavy of a one if it's close to the floor make sure you can lift and move it slightly in order to clean. It's a far enough away from the floor it's not as much or a problem.

I have a Room and Board sofa with their pet friendly Sumner fabric (this is a custom option so it takes a while for them to send it to you). We are very happy we went with this because our cat claws up everything he can but he hasn’t been able cause any marks or pills yet in the fabric for our new sofa.

The style we went with was Cade which we find comfortable, but I recommend going to a showroom as height differences can affect what sofa you find comfortable.

We've had a Bassett sectional for years and it keeps up with our corgi excellently. Not sure if they still have the fabric we got (this was a while back), but they have a number of tighter weaves that are soft and easy to vacuum. They also have a ton of leather options if it's in your budget.

I cant attest to forever, but I bought an analine leather couch from article a few years ago and love it. Solid oak frame, and the scuffs buff right out.

  2. Local upholstery shops are a thing and you need to know you can have any cushion refabric'd with anything from whale penis leather to carbon kevlar with any cushion material from aero gel to concrete when the cushions fail your comfort and/or aesthetic requirements.

We have a leather restoration hardware (not cheap) sofa that has been abused by three dogs, a cat, four kids and it looks like brand new. 10 years old.

We got a Joybird w their special pet fabric 5 years ago (we have 3 large German Shepard/Huskies, and a cat). It is heavily used everyday all day, all animals are allowed on our furniture, and it still looks new, no rips or holes or anything
