We encountered this last year when we were apartment hunting. MA lead laws are meant to protect kids but in practice mean that families with children are simply ignored in favor of other applicants. The burden is on the landlord to remediate for lead, and since their not even willing to pay for their own realtors in this town - putting the burden on leasees instead - they're certainly not interested in that.

We ended up not disclosing unless the apartment was newly renovated or there were children in situ already. Huge issue that's underreported

Pretty sure it is legal to ask about your job and I think every apartment I’ve rented has had that on the application (and been background checked). Definitely not legal to discriminate based on you having children but it’s probably pretty hard to prove that.

Frappes: Milkshake in New England.

I think the ice cream makes the shake so Honeycomb and New City always hit.

Not in Cambridge but West Newton, I’m obsessed with Cabot’s. They are a restaurant AND and ice cream shop in one; they have a dedicated ice cream menu. Also one of the only places that does a true cream soda. The ambiance makes the shakes taste extra good.

Just in case you’re not aware, frappe is generally the New England term for what many call a milkshake

I’ve had good ones from JP licks locations, Boston Burger Company (they have some funky ones), and haven’t tried but rumored to be good is Veggie Galaxy. Report back if you find a good one!

Edit: *Veggie Galaxy, there’s also the Shake Shack in Harvard, of course!

I used to live in a “not so legal” apartment with some Ukrainian folx that were working there on visa.

Honestly some of the kindest people I ever met and best neighbors, they also helped move me in the first day when my friend had to bail.

It’s just directly across from the main entrance and has posted signs. Behind the building is a paid lot you can use too. Or Cambridge residents parking close and meter parking out front too. Or the T station

Thanks it sounds stupid but a few years ago I looked at this location and couldn't find the assigned spots that they spoke of . Given how easy it is to get towed from private lots I gave up on joining this gym.
