New TMP post: Informing the public that a closed meeting has been held isn't hard but for some reason the CA Board held fourteen closed meetings over the last year that hadn't been publicly acknowledged until last Thursday. Not clear if this was a deliberate act of deception or just a disregard for proper procedures or something else - but whatever the reason, the result is the same: a lack of transparency. Its also not clear why they chose to finally acknowledge the meetings now... just kinda weird to all of a sudden acknowledge the meetings after refusing to do so for months.

I really hope this nonsense motivates people to vote

I mean, it sounds like the Merriweather Post had heard about the meetings, so it might by CYA to disclose now. The other aspect of it - it sounds like all (or most) of the meetings were about Lakey, who they (frustratingly) got rid of. Non-disclosure of the meetings could have been directly done to hide it from her.

I do wish it was someone on the board pushing back by threatening or actually disclosing the meetings. I'm excited to vote this year, but I also find it difficult to find good information. My rep isn't one of the egregious ones, but I also feel like there is too much silence.

It would be awesome if someone could put together an overview of candidates.

I think your assessment that it was some type of CYA is correct. Still doesn’t explain “why NOW?”

FYSA, Merriweather Post has provided a questionnaire to all CA board candidates. Which should be published over the weekend. Hopefully the candidates all respond to help provide a little more information about them. Also, each village has candidates nights that you can attend to learn more.

There were a couple of instances where Bill Santos tried to correct Eric Greenberg multiple times about dates of meetings not being noted in the minutes. Maybe they finally realized that Bill was right?

Any comment on the recent campaign by certain parties to defend the CA board and cast aspersions on the former president’s dealings?
