I wanted to bring attention to this event by my former journal, the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal at UConn Law. Tomorrow on Friday, March 31, 2023, CPILJ is hosting a symposium event entitled "Are Parental Rights Always in the Best Interest of Children? Race, Gender, Sexuality, and the Conflict over Parental Rights".
In response, a small collective of groups including "Unmask Out Kids CT" are planning to protest the event, claiming they are in favor of "education, not indoctrination".
Regardless of your views, we should all support these students and speakers' right to free speech (as well as, unfortunately, the protestors' right to free assembly). I almost hesitate to post this and bring this protest group more attention, but there needs to be discussion about this important issue.
