Our 11 year anniversary is coming up & I was hoping to get some advice on great places to visit in CT. We’re living in Lisbon at the moment, so close would be nice, but not against taking a day trip.

If you’ve found any nice places you could recommend, I would appreciate it immensely, thank you :)

I really loved Kent after staying at a B&B there

As Hmt5592 mentioned, Kent came to mind for me as well. Swyft is an awesome restaurant. Kent will be a serious drive for you from Lisbon though!

A trip to Mystic could be fun, some shops, good walks, and a slew of great restaurants for dinner. Oyster Club and Shipwrights Daughter come to mind.

Litchfield is another option but also a drive. Lots to do on the main street and you could go to Arethusa Al Tavolo for dinner (depending on how soon it is you may not be able to get a reservation, make sure you call though as the online system never has any openings).

There’s equally (if not more) quaint towns closer to OP. Chester, Essex, Guilford, Stonington Borough are picture perfect.

No doubt, just mentioning places I’m more familiar with. Chester is actually high on my list of places in CT I want to visit a couple times this year. Have only been once.

You can book Arethusa through OpenTable. I ate there earlier this month with no issue.

Oh I know you can I’m just saying that often OpenTable shows them with no tables but every time I have called in that situation and gotten a table.

Chester is adorable and has some great food and a brewery. You could see a show at Goodspeed and also check out Essex or Guilford centers. You could also stop at Fox Farm on the way from Lisbon. Grano Arso in Chester would be a great special occasion place. Madison Beach Hotel for drinks on water and then Bar Bouchee would be really nice too.

In New Haven, you could do an art museum trip, see a show, and a really nice dinner at somewhere like Olea, The Luke, Union League, Tavern on State, Fair Haven Oyster.
