I want to restore water flow to two outdoor faucets that currently do not flow water. One is directly off the wall of the home and the other is about 20 yards into the back yard. This is an older home that was recently renovated.

I tried to follow the piping best I could but it didn’t get me far. I was wondering what I should do next before tearing any walls to trace back where the line was cut.

Would the city have any diagrams I can request a copy of?

The only person who might know is the plumber who worked on the renovation or the builder who ought to have a set of plans. I am guessing though that there are shutoffs hidden away behind an access panel.

Gotcha. And didn’t know of access panel for water. I’ll meander around and see if I can get anywhere. Thanks.

City won’t have anything like that for a private home. If you have a metal detector, you can probably find the line that goes out into the yard. The one in the house….this will minimize damage but won’t eliminate it….get a cheap borescope and take a peek behind the walls. You’ll have to patch a small hole, but nothing major.

Gotcha. And thanks for the scouting hole idea with the borescope.

Check the sprinkler piping if you have that. Sometimes those janky type bibbs will be hooked up to your irrigation system not domestic water.
