Mods, I've made a post about this and it was removed. I've made it more specific as per the rules.
Like the title says, I'm wondering if L brackets can hold weight if the "shelving" is around 15 inches out. I have a TV mounted over a fireplace (I know, I know, but there's no complaints from guests) and no where to really mount the sound bar. It has speakers on the top so I need it to be in front of the TV.

The space from the brick to where the mounts on the sound bar would be to be in front of the TV is 15 inches. I was thinking about putting 2 L brackets with 2 pieces of wood to hold the sound bar just far enough.
It'd look like this: https://imgur.com/a/FV3mn9E
I've looked into another option which is buying a bracket so that the sound bar hangs off the TV. I don't want to go that route to avoid adding more weight onto the TV mount.

If thats masonry or cmu, you might need an anchor which should be more than enough to support a sound bar 15 inches away.
