A friend hung about half the drywall on this basement ceiling but is no longer available to finish it. I looked up some tutorials but wasn't quite sure how to continue this specific work in progress versus starting from scratch.
He said something about running 2x4s along the beam, but he wasn't very clear on what I should do for the space where the drywall already goes past the beam.
Here's where I'm starting from: https://imgur.com/a/4Mks2sy
I'd really appreciate any tips or advice.

You can cut the drywall back flush with the beam, and run a PC of 2x4 against the beam for a nailer. That way you can but a PC of sheetrock up to the existing one and screw into the new 2x4 you hung
