Just my own personal opinion, but I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d choose Slide Rock over West Fork

Hot hot day when being in the creek is the best thing.

Cats bum hole comes to mind.

I hear you. There are so many fantastic spots on the creek that don’t include hundreds of other people though.

I love stopping every once in a while and just try to follow up the sides to the top and you see cacti above the trees on some ledge in a little canyon. It's wild.

When I lived there several years ago, I loved finding a spot to park somewhere on 89A, making my way down to the creek, and then just hiking along the water until I found a spot without too many other people around, and hanging out there for a while

I'd love to get back out there and stay in one of the places along the way to be able to hit all the spots. Bootlegger had a nice little swimming hole I remember.

It's been a snowy winter this year but not in this pic - looks like a great day to be there!
