There's a fishing boat at the bend that is only a few pixels here. This canyon is huge

Yes! It is pretty insane. This is really one of those places you need to experience in person to understand the sense of scale. For reference this was taken at 17mm on a full-frame DSLR and i barely got the edges of the river within the frame :)

Been there. People don't realize that the cliffs on the left and right of that picture are about 1.5km (about a mile) away from each other and the drop is more than 300m (about a thousand feet) high.
Nature is badass.
