Stunning geological formations at the Skazka (Fairytale) Canyon on the Southern shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan (I know that Kul means lake). A popular day trip for locals, we saw more Kyrgyz tourists here than in any other destination, which were far more remote - there we saw nobody.

I did some compilations and modelling for a couple of mining/exploration concessions there; absolutely STUNNING topography.

That's really cool! Hopefully no plans were made in order to keep the landscape as it is

This particular project is at a stand still now; the mountains are safe! :D

Great news hehe. I know there are quite a few mining projects underway throughout Kyrgyzstan, and the larger ones tend to be quite remote and inaccessible. Would be a really shame to destroy something that is actually so easy to visit for the locals and tourists.

Wish there was something to compare the size, it looks small but I have a feeling it's huge.

Yeah this is a shot where a person could have been well-placed. It's actually not so high, the tip of the sharp peak is maybe 10m above the ground its on. Could be a bit more, I'm having a hard time myself really remembering the exact scale.
