I assume this is a composite image? You're not going to see the galactic center shooting north from Trillium Lake.

But you couldn't have gotten this in the same shot as Hood. I have spent many, many nights at Trillium (I lived in PDX for a decade) and there's just no way. And as someone else pointed out, the Milky Way doesn't even orient in the direction in your photo. It had to be blended.

True. Not every one is a composite, but this one is. Any decent night sky photographer familiar with the location can tell you the Milky Way center will never align in this way at Trillium Lake. Not sure why you're insisting it's not a blend, because it's obvious. It's a nice image, just be honest about its construction. lol

I've only actually seen the galactic center once when I was a kid it was very beautiful and I'm hoping to see it again if I can't see it on earth then I'll launch myself into deep space
