Context: Sol Duc Falls is one of the world's most iconic and over-photographed waterfalls. This was my most anticipated shot during my Washington trip. There were a good amount of people on the trail, including many large groups of families. I recommend arriving early in the morning to beat the crowds. On the day I went, the weather was overcast, perfect for midday waterfall scenery. The bridge I took this photo on was super muddy and not sturdy at all. It is highly recommended to use a tripod. At first, I thought to myself, “oh, this is an easy composition”. I then looked closely at my photo and noticed that the leaves were blurry. To ensure that my leaves were sharp, I needed to take an additional photo at a higher shutter speed since the leaves were moving. I blended the slower shutter speed and the faster shutter speed of the leaves to create this image.
I am planning to post more of my work asap! If you like my work, please consider following my Facebook page or Instagram!
