There's a lot of research going on about this right now. Whether or not it pays off, or if both myself or anyone reading this gets to actually witness it, is anyone's guess, but... Hypothetically, let's be optimistic; let's say all this CRISPR stuff, and mouse-age-reverding pays off and we finally find a way to eliminate aging. Has anyone actually put thought into what comes next? Like, how would this change society? Would there be bans on giving birth as to not contribute to the obvious problems with overpopulation that would occur? The whole thing sounds like an understandably fantastic concept, sure, but actual research is being done in this, and it seems like most scientific achievements sort of come out of nowhere, so like- is there literally ANY plans or protocols if this actually happens? I, personally, like to see people plan ahead for things like this, or a.i, or any sort of concept far ahead and fantastic, yet inevitable in some regard. Even if it happens 100 years from now. The human race is far too reactive and not nearly as prepared as it should be, imo, but that's a different topic.
