Developments and breakthroughs are happening in all sectors every single day. But what about the aviation industry? What major breakthrough did we have since it's inception. Other than having screens on seats, internet and prohibiting smoking what major changes did we have for a passenger aircraft since the 60s. It still take 17 hours for a flight to reach India from the US, still burns a ton of fuel for a 20 minute fly. How close is the aviation industry regarding a major breakthrough. Will we have any future aircrafts powered by electricity or hydrogen. If so will it bring the ticket rates down?. Is it possible for a passenger aircraft to hit 2000kmph? If so why are we still flying at 800 kmph.
