Ahhhhhh, i also remember the days when I feared automation and rode with the yang gang. Look, just because robots can replace a job doesn't mean those replaced will be out of one. Job loss is not as simple as a one to one, eventually new lines of work can be created or previous ones can expand due to the decreased demand for labor.

Also, there's no real way to predict which jobs will be lost and which ones won't. If I knew the answer to that, i would be shorting stocks instead of browning this site.

Nope, a pandemic can kill people and free labor. Also early retirment, suicides, drug overdoses, low birth rates etc.

There are no new jobs, just less people to fill positions. And positions will get cut fast with AI.

When this robot uprising happens, I will make my new job - farming and defending my newly appropriated land. I guess they could make robots to solve that problem too.

Here is the deal, AI is growing exponentially in cognitive and robitic capabilities. But you and I are not.

Your body and brain does not improve, quite the opposite. Imagine you must learn something completly new and master it well for a good sallary, that takes like 3-5 years. AI will catch up faster, learns faster than you.

AI will catch up to any job a human does, white collar or blue collar. In fact, white collar will probanly go down first in bigger numbers.

This might take decades, but I think it starts within years.
