When I only thought about me, today. I ignored the me, tomorrow.
When I thought about the me, tomorrow, the me, today also felt better.
For the majority of my life my future self hated me.
Why are you spending all my money? Why are you giving me all this weight? Why are you tanking my grades? Why are you damaging my relationships?
It wasn’t until I realized my general sense of well-being is identical to his well-being that I started considering what he might want.
Before going on Amazon, the store, or planning a trip I’d start asking myself,
“if I do this future DK will feel? “
“The consequences of which will be?”
“A better choice is?”
Then future me suddenly had more money and became happier with me.
So I expanded this to my food choices.
Then my fitness habits.
Then my relationships.
Overtime the man that was once cursing my every move suddenly started resting easy knowing I was looking after his interests.
If you want to become friends with your future self and experience less anxiety, depression, and more happiness:
Before doing habitual behaviors ask:
If I do this, in the future I’ll feel?
The consequences of this are?
A better choice is?

Future you is still you, though. Misleading title.
