So I have had a lot going on (to me) in the past year - an (amicable) divorce, diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, and recently my apartment complex had a major fire and I am unable as of now to get my personal belongings back and had to move to another unit in the building that isn’t in great shape (but i am greatful I had no injuries).

I am very clear about the fact that plenty of people have major challenges in their lives so these particular issues are just what are impacting me personally and what I personally find challenging.

I’d love to hear some words of wisdom, affirmations, anything that highlights how challenges make us stronger, build resilience, and ultimately can help us grow as humans.

Spend a little time each day doing something you are passionate about. That spark will carry over into the "have to's" of life and will generally make it easier to deal with the pressures.

I have similar things in my life. The health difficulties make it a challenge but in a strange way they also give me an advantage: a daily reminder of why I do the things I do, that I’m grateful for what my body is able to do still, that life is a path, not a race, the only person walking it is me and I only have to be further along by one step to be nevertheless further along.

I read a good one a while back. If, on one day, you only have 40% to give and you give that 40%, you’ve given 100%.

Best wishes that you overcome your obstacles soon.

If you enjoy reading, check out Viktor Frankl’s “Man’s Search for Meaning”. It’s a pretty quick read that deals with a suffering and misfortune in a very powerful way

I’ve heard about this book so many times - I think it’s finally time to jump in.
