Eric Idle was being interviewed about the time Monty Python created an episode for German television entirely in spoken German.

He said that a couple executives from German television came to the Python crew at BBC, and said, "We'd like to make a proposal. You see, we don't have a sense of humor.... but we're led to understand that you do."
