Let the vet do bloodwork. Hyperthyroid is a common ailment of old cats, is curable and a very common cause of nausea and yowling.

Indeed. My 16 year old moggy is on medication for an hyperactive thyroid and is doing well on it.

This is way too far down. This is your answer, or at keast a path and not immediate euthanasia. Bloodwork isn't super expensive and the meds are pretty cheap.
