LPT: Read your vehicle manual.
It might save your life or the lives of your family.

The actual LPT is the second part. DO NOT DO THE FIRST PART _ if you're involved in an accident and the airbag is disabled your insurer is gonna destroy your life

I believe it’s illegal in my state to have preteen children in the front seat? Everyone I know has them ride in back.

Yeah this is really a bad idea. Don’t do this. Firstly if your kid does ride in front and somehow manages to survive a severe car accident, then forget about insurance as you fucked with the safety of the car. Second, if you do this then go see my first point.
