Trust people when they say they're toxic. A lot of people realise this after losing friends and relationships.

And it's really difficult for people to change their entire behaviour. It takes a lot time and effort to change. So if someone tells you that they're toxic and are trying to work on it, take it as face value because that's mostly true. So invest your efforts wisely and be prepared to face their toxicity because people don't change overnight.

I've had multiple such encounters where people confessed to me that they were toxic and were trying to work on it, but they eventually turned out to be extremely harmful for me.
