LPT: In a serious situation where you’re confronted by a random person trying to break into your home while you’re there, never say “i’m calling the police” and instead say “the police are almost here”.

Most likely the thieves are inexperienced and are always in a hurry so by saying “i’m calling the police”, this will make them think they still have a bit of time until the police actually arrive so by saying “the police are almost here” while you are on the phone with them is quite useful and might drive a bit more fear of being caught in them and they might quickly run away.

Always better to lie to people trying to rob you instead of being honest.
