Hello! My family and I just moved to the area — Chelmsford to be exact. We need help with unloading our POD and moving things in the house this Friday. We mainly need help with the larger items and realistically it shouldn’t take more than an hour or so of time to get it unloaded.

So we are looking for two younger, strong guys to help us. We are willing to give $100 per person and a 6 pack of your favorite beer. Please PM me if you can help!

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Your post makes me think of how many projects I need help on.

What does everyone thing of posting “quick jobs” on this sub in general?

Thank you so much! We are from Texas so it’s definitely been a huge change moving here, and a very expensive move at that! Which is why I’m hoping to get a couple people to help us instead of us paying $500 to movers.

I think you would have a better chance finding someone to help on facebook market. Also, $500 to unload everything is not bad and you will have somewhat professionals do the work and not some creeps like us from Reddit.

You’re definitely not wrong there! I think we’re just gonna swallow the money and hire the movers.

Dang, I almost had $100 and a six pack

j/k I'm not a beefy enough fellow to move large appliances on my own

Thankfully it’s no appliances! Just a handful of dressers, a couple bookcases, a couch (a very light couch — it’s just very long), etc. The most difficult thing I’d estimate is our mattress, which is a king size. It’s VERY floppy so it’s difficult to manage. Basically that stuff and whatever things out of our reach (my fiancé and I are under 5’5) lol

I lived in Arlington, Texas for a few years. It was awful. You've made a good choice. I'd help, but I'm old and xenophobic. Still, welcome to a better life.

At least another Texan can empathize with my culture shock here! Loved in Texan my whole life and I already miss my breakfast kolaches

At least fried pickles are finally up north! And you can even get Shiner Boch here now.

FYI there’s a couple facebook groups that are in town that are great for stuff like this. They’re called Chelmsford News and Chelmsford News 2.0
