I have good knowledge on standard machine learning models and techniques and have some knowledge of deep learning. I want to tackle the field of sports analytics. Is there any platform for good resources and problems ?

Haha I remember taking some mooc course where I actually analysed the moneyball all dataset with R. I think that's a classic use case.

I've been trying to come up with some ML algorithms to model various aspects of basketball and have found some luck simply searching terms of interest in Google Scholar and reading any relevant papers that come up as well as citations.

This is a neat book/blog. It's using R, but the ideas are kind of what matters, etc.
