What the fuck is up with the selection of counties?
Basically, it's are you new to anywhere in Maine other than Portland?
Except it isn't, Waldo county and knox county aren't included, yet they included Oxford is which goes more south than waldo, same with Hancock.
I was mostly just being flip, but now I'm interested in this mystery. Maybe they're excluding any counties that have decent sized towns on south and midcoast (i.e. the most common landing spots for Maine immigrants)?
Yeah but they have penobscot county which has Bangor, which is like the 3rd largest city in our state.
Bangor’s not on the coast, so my hypothesis still applies. Also, as a resident of Bangtown, I can confidently say that we’re not a prime destination for former Manhattanites.
we're too good for them anyway !
Oxford also goes up to the Canadian border.
They got the 5 I consider to be Northern Maine
It’s the most rural counties, most of which are also the northernmost or more northern than the more populated ones…
The population of all of those counties is less than a third of the overall state population.
