Thanks! I’m leaning towards the tofu after reading this and the other comment. Any recommendation on what plate to get?

I would probably recommend a polycarbonate, or fr4. Since it is going to be you first real custom board. I would say polycarbonate is a bit more forgiving when it comes to the switches you pick, it should carry less spring ping, leaf ping, and unpleasant sounds.
