Hello Reddit, I’m 15 and I always knew rock was good but I had never gone past the surface. I knew the super mainstream songs (Back in Black, Sweet child o mine, Thunderstruck) but I had never really taken an interest into rock because I got so sick and tired of the same over played rock songs.
1 Month ago I was depressed and really not motivated to do anything. I would stay home, skip school, and call in sick for work. I ended up seeing a TikTok talking about how good Dark Side of The Moon was, so I decided wth I would give it a shot.
I listened to the album for the first time and oh my god I wish I grew up with this. I loved every second of it. I listened to the album on repeat for the next few days.
After I got sick and tired of DSOTM I dove deeper into Pink Floyds discography. I ended up listening to every single song the band had ever made. Obviously not every album is great but overall it was a great experience.
Now 1 month later, I am exploring deep into “Psychedelic Rock”, “Art Rock” and “Alternative Rock”. I am now living a somewhat happy life. Recently I have gone through some trauma and rock has helped me cope with my depression and It’s basically all bc of rock.
Note: I tried to make this all grammatically correct but I’m not good at english so excuse any errors
