But I thought Newark was a dangerous crime ridden city??? Yes even though it's literally 2022.
Even the guy that shot the cops a few months ago was a special case. He was a struggling schizophrenic whose family tried to get him help from Police multiple times and guess what, Police kept telling em that there was nothing they could do, unless he was to do something drastic...so he did.
Newark has a lazy police department but not an abusive one.
Newark has some rough around the edges citizens but clearly we're not a city of murderers and thugs like people on r/newjersey would want you to believe.
I think Trenton and Camden also had low numbers. Trenton only had a handful of shootings over the summer and no murders. NY is also trending down...but Philly is sadly over the 600th mark.
50 too many! but great job to the city because keeping those numbers low is difficult in a place where crime chases on a low income vulnerable community.
