Santiago Ramón y Cajal was a Spanish neuroscientist, bodybuilder, and member of the Spanish senate. he is regarded as the “father of modern neuroscience”. He is credited with dozens of groundbreaking discoveries and he even won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1906. circa the 1880s
