Just got transferred a truck title took about a month to get the new one. The seller actually couldn’t find the title so I gave him a deposit with a contract, and he went to Harrisburg the following week to get a new one issued same day.

Thanks. Seems like it varies quite a bit. The day I really "need" it is march 8th, which would be 5 weeks after the notary. Its tempting to just go get it and finalize the title stuff after the fact, because the guy definitely seems trustworthy after a lot of discussion. His FB profile looks and sounds like a rich yuppy in Montgomery county that used it to haul daffodils around his property, lol... but I REALLY don't want to end up with an untitled machine, as we use it on roads and trails that require registration and insurance.

He could make the trip to Harrisburg for you to expedite it, but a basic sales contract could cover you in case he doesn’t transfer the title. I basically said in mine I’d take possession of the vehicle (needed trailered), and if he didn’t produce a title to transfer to me within 30 days he refunds the deposit, reimbursed me for lost expenses, and comes and picks it up on his own time and dime. I’m no lawyer, but I’d think it hold up in small claims court, I used a template online to write one out.
