Mine said that too. I think it refers to the normal mail in ballot, doesn't mean YOU are unverified. You can call them to make sure.

Huh. My record just says “Mail-In” under Ballot Type. Then again, I applied for the ballot via hard copy in-person (I did the “in-person mail-in” ballot thing at the courthouse and delivered the ballot in-person). As u/Pf18929 says, “Vote Recorded” doesn’t mean “counted.” It just means received.

Call to be on the safe side. Centre County won’t be too busy I think.

Ugh wtf? Mine says this too? I never got anything in the mail that said I had to verify my ID again! I'm going to call tomorrow to find out.

The great thing about voting in person, you don’t need to worry if your vote went through or not. VOTE IN PERSON!

Or I could vote by mail in, like your republican friends voted for, brought into law…celebrated as a win for the party…and then tried to repeal it because they found out it’s not a good strategy when more people vote.

>In Pennsylvania, those applying for mail-in or absentee ballots must provide proof of identification — such as providing state driver’s license information or the last four digits of their Social Security Number.
In some cases, a voter’s identifying information is automatically verified. For example, if they supply their driver’s license number with an online ballot application, the system automatically cross-references it with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation data, acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman wrote in a Friday response letter to the Republican lawmakers.
However, in other cases, the voter’s identifying information must go through further verification processes. When that happens, the application enters the statewide system under a designation labeled “NV,” or “not verified.”
Notably, the “not verified” designation doesn’t mean the voter didn’t provide accurate identification information, nor does it mean their ID wasn’t later verified.

> The applications are marked “not verified” or “NV” if a voter’s identity couldn’t immediately be verified or if the application needs to be verified again before the ballot can be approved, according to a statement sent to us by Amy Gulli, communications director for the Pennsylvania Department of State.

>“For example, a ballot application would be marked with NV if it is a new application that comes in and the provided ID was not able to be immediately verified,” the press release said. “Or, for another example, a ballot application would be marked as NV if it is from a voter on the permanent mail-in or absentee list who requested a mail ballot for both the primary and general elections, and their ID needs to be verified again for the general election.”

You probably applied for a mail-in ballot online before the primary. Mine has the same verbiage. You can call your county Board of Elections to confirm. I think it is just confusing wording. "Ballot recieved" having a date, and "Vote Recorded" is what matters.

Hilarious because Republicans have always been against mass mail in voting. It was your democrat friends who voted for it. I love how you libs try to twist the truth to fit your narrative.

Facts are not your friend are they, buckwheat?

Pa Senate voted 35 to 14. 28 Republicans and 7 Democrats voted Yes. 14 Democrats voted no and not a single Republican voted No.

Pa House voted 138 to 61. 105 Republicans and 33 Democrats voted Yes. 59 Democrats and 2 Republicans voted no.

Overwhelming passed by Republicans

If you could only learn to read and comprehend, it was a vote against mass mail in voting. I get it, you lefties really do lack the intelligence to understand critical thinking.

You don't need to take any action. The election workers will verify.

All this hubbub is caused by PA election laws being cumbersome. If we reformed out laws to be more like Florida (which, apparently, has their stuff together here) it would be so much smoother.

Of course, there's one party that doesn't want this process to get any smoother, so without a big swing towards the Dems, we get to keep this quirky system.

As long as you signed and dated your outer envelope, included the secrecy envelope and didn't mark it, you should be fine. (Yes, that's a lot of ifs, many of them unnecessary hoops to jump through. That's what we've got.)

jvall05 OP t1_ivjoznq wrote

Update: Called the election clerk office and wasn’t able to provide additional details as to why it displays not verified besides the normal items, didn’t use ss# or dl#, secrecy envelope, all things we have done already. She told me to go to my local polling office and fill a provisional. CHECK YOUR MAIL IN STATUS

Edit: added more context to what clerk told me

This morning, I contacted my election office (York) and was told "not verified" just means an additional step needs to be taken to ensure the signature or SSN matches, and my vote will be recorded. I've also seen this echoed by a Democratic group, and a recent AP article also suggests the same.

In past elections, I haven't seen this "not verified" message, so my guess is the powers-that-be are pushing to REALLY MAKE SURE no "fraud" is occurring.

Edit: AP link is the same as posted by u/k3hvn earlier. Apologies for duplicating info.

I understand there have been quite a number of issues with mail in ballots this year.

1

winston-84 t1_ivjzpip wrote

No. It's something the county does on their end -- they check the signature and/or the SSN on the envelope with what they have on file to ensure it matches. From what I understand, if an issue does arise, they contact the voter via email.

kikicrazed t1_ivk2636 wrote

My election clerk office said they had my ballot and to not worry about the online status of “not verified” because it’s a clerical error on the side of the state. This is rather confusing.

KutyaKombucha t1_ivk3bq5 wrote

After all the complaints and legal ratfucking the republicans did last election, I swear to only vote in person. I know it's a luxury, but the way the courts in this state are stacked, they would happily disenfranchise every mail in vote two days before the ballot with no recourse for the public.

Newtype879 t1_ivkzok7 wrote

Called Montgomery County office about this. This will show up if...

  1. You requested the Annual Mail-in option ahead of the Primaries.

  2. There was an actual issue with your verification for you ballot.

MontCo voter office has a list if you call in and can verify if you need to take any further steps with your mail-in ballot.
