CYS is a shitshow in PA. I'm a mandated reporter and have had multiple reports and dealings with them.

I assume they're toothless in that the law is not on your side, even though the worker probably wants it to be.

I was once contacted as a pediatric health care provider about a patient who was being followed by CYS in Philly. I told them that they should worry less about that kid and worry more about his younger sibling who hadn’t had any immunizations since they were 2 months old and had never gone to school, even though they were 8 years old. CYS didn’t even know the sibling existed (which I thought was really strange because I saw them both as patients and the parents brought them in together).

Because it is a county by county system. It should be a state wide office.
