I have a 2008 Saturn Vue in Providence that I am looking to sell, most likely for parts. It was having issues with a check engine light and rough idle. Cost to fix became more than the car was worth, and a lack of driving led to a dead battery. So, it’s stuck in my yard. Additionally, the title is under my father’s name (he’s willing to help or sign it to me if needed). I’m hoping to sell it and get it removed as soon as possible. Any recommendations on how I can get the most bang for my buck? The body of the car is in great shape.

Park it in Federal Hill and eventually, you'll have fewer parts to get rid of.

Also, if it still has a cat, just post it on Craigslist. I listed my Forester on there and my phone blew up by the end of day. Scrappers were practically fighting over it.

You can donate it to charity for a tax write-off. It’s super easy, they will come pick it up (even if it’s completely dead) and do the rest, and send you a receipt in the mail. It helps a cause you care about, but the receipt you receive will be for a fair amount less than you might expect.

As far as “bang for your buck” goes. If it’s truly a parts car, either put it up on FB/Craigslist or call around to some junkyards & small autofix places to get some numbers. You’ll have to do a little more work here but who knows maybe someone will want to pay for it.

You could try getting it to a Saturn dealership to see if they’d trade it in for any value at all toward a new/used vehicle but you’d have to get it to drive onto the lot for that.

Tow it to Ocean State Auto Repair in Johnston and have the guys there give you a second opinion. I was in a similar situation and ended up keeping the car.

The junk guys don't tend to care about the title. They give a couple bucks and haul it away.

Depending on age they will need a title to scrap it. Probably worth around $300 to scrap.
